funday

Sundays were made for long lies, long walks (if you’re that way inclined), eating delicious food and lazily flicking through fashion magazines. Unfortunately, all too often my Sundays are spent in a duvet den hell of my own making; hungover and miserable with the bitter aftertaste of gin and self-loathing in my drier than the Sahara mouth. After two particularly raucous Saturday nights out in a row, last night I spent the evening swaddled in grey cotton, eating devilish food and holding back tears at reality TV shows. It was a pretty great night.
Today I awoke, fresh as a daisy, despite losing an hour to British Summer Time, and have actually seen some of Sunday; from my bedroom window at least. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping: it’s all very uplifting. So uplifting in fact, that for the first time in weeks I have taken the time to sit down and write this post. (I also watched an episode of Sex and the City last night and typing on a laptop while gazing out of the window makes me feel all glamorous and Carrie-esque.)
Anyway, incoherent, self-indulgent rambling aside, I have been buying lots of lovely new things recently: some of which, shamefully, still have their labels on. I was hoping to post some real life, non-instagramed up photos of said new things but it appears I have misplaced my camera cable so consider this a cliffhanger...

PS. If somebody could send me a Macbook Pro and a new camera that would be ideal and would definitely improve my blog ten fold. And while I’m making unreasonable demands I’m also in the market for Miranda Kerr’s rocking bod and this ridiculously good Acne aviator jacket.

I am a fashionbeasta. fashionbeasta: a wannabe fashionista who likes kit kats too much

Once upon a time I had a blog. Now, I have an out of date collection of my inane musings gathering cyber dust, much like my home laptop which sadly only gets used for watching guff on TV.
Today I got my Topshop NEWGEN Mary Katrantzou t-shirt through the post along with a totes adorable limited edition free tote bag and the sad reality is I probably WON’T post a photo of me wearing it. The reasons for this are twofold: I am still carrying a little Christmas weight (approx 100lbs of quality street) and I’ll probably wear it with the same jeans I wear EVERY DAY and my Dr Martens.
Since my last post I have definitely bought a fair few things but nobody really needs me to talk about the seamless footies I picked up in Primark. In case you are curious footies are those funny little socks that are even smaller than trainer socks designed to wear with pumps and stuff. This stuff is blogging GOLD.
Obviously it has not escaped my attention that it’s London Fashion Week at the moment (my Twitter timeline is rife with #LFW related tweets and with each one I read I think I turn a little more green) and rather than go into detail about shows I haven’t attended I will simply say this: I NEED Alexa Chung’s JW Anderson paisley print pyjama style trousers in my life immediately.

I'm too tired to be fabulous

I always had this idea that when I was an 'adult' I would be fabulous. I don't really like the word fabulous but I do like what it implies albeit somewhat cheesily. My naive, child-self thought that by 24 I would be living somewhere cool, with an enviable wardrobe, exotic lifestyle and most importantly, immaculate, shiny hair. Oh if only I knew then what I know now.

Don't get me wrong, I really like my life but I simply don't have the time or the energy to be fabulous. Tonight, for example; I came in from the gym, ate my dinner (steak sandwich-delicious), put my gym stuff in the wash, paired some socks, and am now just waiting patiently in my pj's for Masterchef to start. The most exciting part of my evening was probably laying out my outfit for work tomorrow, or listening to my dad curse after he dropped his dinner and the dog got it.

I see so many bloggers post insanely beautiful pictures day after day; they go wonderful and exciting places and they always look incredible. I go to Livingston (arse end of nowhere) and sometimes Starbucks or Nandos. My hair is rarely shiny or immaculate and my wardrobe is shady, at best. But I'm only 24, I've still got a whole lifetime to try to be fabulous!

Something to strive for-Olivia Palermo is definitely FABULOUS

Happy new...Shoes

Happy New Year everybody, I can't believe it's 2012 already. Time flies when you're trying to have fun. Hope you all had a riotous and scandal filled NYE, mine was embarrassingly tame. In fact, I boogied with my parents and was tucked up in bed by 1.20am, I am the anti-cool. That being said I love spending time with my family, especially at Christmas! I had some time of work too which was great: I love my job but with all the December partying I was definitely in need of a rest. And boy did I rest; endless hours were spent in front of the TV watching crappy teen movies and eating chocolates, it was a pretty perfect set-up. Alas, all good things must come to an end and I'm glad to be back at work and in a routine, at least I will be once my body remasters the 6am wake-up call.

New Year is famously a time to re-evaluate your life and start a fresh. The gym gets busier, people stop smoking and sales of Special K are at an all-time high (I have had 4 tedious bowls in the last 2 days). This year, there is so much I'd like to achieve, but, instead of making a list of resolutions I have decided to just try to stay positive; I'm hoping that with a little bit of positive thinking good things will come my way. If those good things just so happen to be a lottery win and the body of Miranda Kerr then that would be just wonderful.

What better way to start the year than with a new pair of shoes? My shoe mountain is getting pretty precarious: piled high with an assortment of heels, wedges, brogues and pumps. The newest addition to my footwear family is these super cute Superga rubbers from Schuh. I live in my Converse high tops and have been eyeing up a pair of these canvas trainers, as worn by the lovely Alexa Chung, for months. When I saw that these ones were down to £24.99 in the sale I just couldn't resist however wearing them today in the horizontal rain was probably not the best idea.
